There are moments in life when we feel the need to pause, to step away from the noise, the pressure, the constant movement — and reconnect with something deeper within ourselves.
For many people, this is what brings them to Kambô.
At Viva Kambo, we hold Kambô ceremonies in a grounded, respectful, and intentional way, creating a space where people can slow down, listen inwardly, and move through a powerful process of release and reconnection.
What Is Kambô?
Kambô is a traditional practice originating from the indigenous tribes of the Amazon rainforest, who have worked with the secretion of the giant monkey frog for generations in ceremonial settings.
Traditionally, Kambô has been used as a ritual for cleansing, strengthening, clarity, and preparation before hunting or important life events.
Today, many people are drawn to Kambô not only for the intensity of the experience, but for the sense of reset, emotional clarity, and grounding they often feel afterwards.
It’s important to understand that Kambô is not a medicine in the Western sense, and we do not make medical claims about its effects. Every experience is deeply personal and can vary greatly from one person to another.
The Ceremony Experience
A Kambô ceremony is more than just the application itself.
It begins with preparation, intention, and creating a safe container for the journey ahead. Participants are guided through the process carefully, with space for questions, grounding, and connection before the ceremony begins.
During the session, small points of Kambô are applied to the skin through superficial gates. The effects are usually strong and fast-moving, often lasting around 20–40 minutes before settling.
People may experience:
Intense heat
Increased heart rate
Emotional release
Purging
Deep stillness
Mental clarity
Fatigue followed by lightness
Throughout the process, support is provided continuously. Breathwork, grounding, live music, and shamanic drumming may be used to help guide the experience and create a calm, held environment.
Why People Feel Drawn to Kambô
Every person comes with a different intention.
Some arrive feeling emotionally heavy or disconnected. Others are seeking clarity, discipline, grounding, or simply a deeper connection with themselves and nature.
Kambô can sometimes feel like a mirror — bringing awareness to patterns, emotions, or parts of ourselves that have been ignored for too long.
For many, the ceremony becomes less about “fixing” something and more about remembering what balance feels like.
Respect, Safety, and Preparation
At Viva Kambo, safety and integrity are central to the work.
Kambô is not suitable for everyone, which is why all participants go through a screening process beforehand. Certain health conditions, medications, or circumstances may mean that Kambô is not appropriate.
Preparation before the ceremony is also important and includes guidance around fasting, hydration, and intention setting.
Our approach is grounded, supportive, and respectful of both the tradition and the individual journey.
A Space to Slow Down
In a world that constantly asks us to do more, move faster, and stay distracted, ceremony offers something different.
A chance to be present.A chance to listen.A chance to release what no longer serves.
Whether someone comes seeking clarity, grounding, or simply curiosity about the practice, Kambô can be a deeply meaningful experience when approached with respect and intention.
