Modern Kambo Medicine Warrior
Modern Kambo Medicine Warrior

Recently, I had a meaningful conversation about Kambo with Mihai Efrim from Viva Kambo New Zealand about Kambo secretion, Kambo Ceremonies and the type of person who feels called to this "medicine", and as we shared our experiences and observations, two important aspects emerged...

The first is the call.

From our understanding and experience, Kambo is not something that can be forced. People often hear about it many times before they feel ready.

There seems to be a certain inner knowing, a feeling that this medicine is right for them at a particular point on their path. Some people feel that call immediately. Others feel curious, but the time is not yet right. The medicine stays somewhere in the background of their awareness until the moment comes when it resonates more deeply.

The second aspect is the attitude with which someone approaches Kambo.

Kambo is not a passive experience. It asks something of us. It invites participation, willingness, and courage. It is not always comfortable. Detoxification, whether physical, emotional, energetic, or mental, often involves moving through discomfort before arriving at greater clarity and freedom.

For this reason, I believe Kambo tends to attract what I would call the warrior spirit.

Not a warrior in the sense of fighting or conquering, but a person who knows what they want and is willing to do the work required to get there. Someone who is prepared to step into temporary discomfort in service of a deeper healing. Someone who is willing to face what arises rather than run from it.

The Kambo warrior is not necessarily fearless. They simply understand that growth asks us to move through challenging places. They trust that beyond the discomfort, there may be healing, clarity, renewed energy, emotional release, and a deeper connection with themselves.

This attitude extends beyond Kambo and into life itself.

The more I work with healing modalities, the more I see that we often receive in proportion to what we are willing to bring into the process. Our presence matters. Our intention matters. Our willingness to participate matters.

Healing is not something that is done to us.

It is something we enter into.

The more we open, the more we engage, the more honestly we show up, the more space there is for transformation to occur. Trust, commitment, openness, courage, and willingness all become part of the medicine.

Whether through Kambo, energy healing, spiritual practice, or life itself, there is a universal principle at work: we cannot expect transformation while remaining completely on the sidelines.

We are invited to participate.

And this is how we see a true attitude of the warrior—not the absence of discomfort, but the willingness to walk through it with an open heart, trusting that what awaits on the other side may be worth far more than the temporary challenge of getting there.

If Kambo has been calling to you, we invite you to reflect on what part of you is being asked to step forward.

Most often, it is not the part that seeks comfort or certainty, but the part that is willing to grow, willing to trust, and willing to walk consciously through discomfort in service of healing and transformation.

The Kambo warrior lives within each of us. When the time feels right, may you have the courage to answer the call, step into your strength, and discover what becomes possible when you meet yourself with openness, commitment, and heart.
